Our globally unique offer is constructed in a modular and open fashion and allows flexible content integration, full support for the Adobe-DRM standard and an intelligent multi-device-synchronizing-solution. At the core of our solution is a powerful eReading backend platform txtr reactor, feed with content and enabling all channels to offer this content.
One of these channels, txtr web, is a brandable, customized eBook shop frontend working with txtr reaktor. It features a state-of-the-art CMS, multi-site setup and various social features. Although written in Python it runs in the JVM via jython, communicating natively with the reactor backend.
For this exciting division we are looking for a software developer with focus on Python.
Your qualifications:
• Academic qualification (Bachelor, Diploma) or equivalent in information technology, mathematics or natural sciences
• Very good proficiency in:
Python, Django, MySQL/Oracle and TDD (test driven development)
• At least 5 years of professional experience
• The following skills and expertise would be highly desirable:
- Experience as lead developer / team lead
- Jython and Java
- Django CMS
- In depth knowledge of web framework architectures
- Performance, scalability, deployment
• Experience with Javascript, jQuery, Compass, CSS/HTML, other web frameworks as Rails, Cake etc. would be considered as a big plus
• Readiness of mind, takes initiative, is highly motivated and good communication skills
• Excellent written and oral language skills in English, German basic knowledge is desirable
Your tasks and responsibilities:
Your task will be to help us to operate and scale up our web shop production facility. We recently build a visionary product to help us to roll out new eBook stores in no time and very limited development resources. As we have quite a few projects standing in line to jump onto this train, we need to scale it up quickly, constantly improving its architecture and rolling out new stores at the same time. This requires the ability to work in a multi-project setup. Further, you are expected to manage younger co-workers as soon as you make yourself familiar with the product and working environment.
